I know that the draft Neighbourhood Plan for Haywards Heath, which remains unadopted, includes a proposal for a "Country Park" in the area off Hurstwood Lane that has been earmarked for development. It is more than a little surprising to receive a leaflet through the door today from a speculative development contractor that invites me to a "pre-application" public exhibition on 7th September of their plans for the site, including an area clearly marked and laid out for allotments. This has all the look of a done deal, just waiting to be rubber-stamped, which is a little surprising. Perhaps the next Allotment Holders Meeting on 12th September can hear a little more about the Town Council's plans for allotments, amongst other public amenities? Incidentally, don't bother looking at the website for hurst-farm.com, it is still "Coming soon"...just like the application, the approval, and all the schooling, health, transport and other infrastructural details.
