Please find attached the notes of the latest Plot Holders Committee meeting held on 2nd May. Sadly our dear friend Wilbarra (John King) is standing down from the committee due to the pressure of other commitments. His contributions will be sorely missed, but John assures us he will still be an active contributor both to this forum and to daily life down at the America Lane site. Would anyone be interested in joining the committee? We have room for at least 3 new volunteers. All welcome! It is not an onerous commitment - 4 meetings a year (maximum) and the only qualification required is a real passion for gardening and ensuring our allotments continue to be a place of peace and horticultural pleasure - and of course to help us to promote our community both amongst our fellow plotholders and wider into the local community. If you fancy knowing more..... come along to Seedling Swap Sunday, from 10am-12pm on Sunday 14th May and we will be happy to twist your arm..... 0205317 Notes of the meeting of America La....docx (16.66 KB)

If you fancy knowing more..... come along to Seedling Swap Sunday, from 10am-12pm on Sunday 14th May and we will be happy to twist your arm..... John has been a strong and tireless enthusiast for the traditions of proper gardening, for the rights of allotment users, and an early and massively important user of this forum. This is the right place and time to thank him for all he has done to help our community. Our next activities are social - Seedling Swap on this Sunday, 14th May, followed by the barbecue, which this year will be 25th June - and the urgent work to maintain and further develop the Community Garden into the place of beauty and peace we want it to be. In the background we are always aware of the uncertainty of development in our town and the need to show to the Town Council and the wider public the pride and strength of feeling we have in our allotments and our determination never to lose this amenity.
