Spent three mornings this week, along with my wife clearing up the beds in the communal garden and tucking them away for the winter. although they say self praise is no recommendation i must say i am well pleased with the result and feel that the hard work of last week was well worth it. We had ten bags of weeds and rubbish standing on the road when we had finished so thanks to one of the allotments neighbours, in the houses, who brought his four wheel truck round to the plot and took them away to the tip. so a community venture was achieved as well as the garden now looking ready to go to sleep for the winter and also passing the scrutiny of our foreman groundsman. The dahlias are laying on Andrews plot ready to be sorted and put away, if they are wanted. The only thing left to do now, before winter sets in,is to give a good rake over the grass area.
