my wife and i havejust got back from doing a bit of best allotment judging on another site in which one of the new catorgaries was the best kept fun garden . could not help thinking that had it been on our site plot 15 with the life like scarecrow would have won hands down. we were told before we went around the site that for this catorgary we had to take in the following : it had to be well cared for. how much thought and time had gone into it. it also had to have at least one outstanding feature. Taking all these things into consideration if plot 15 had been where we were today then,as i say, it would have won hands down. the scarecrow is such a work of art,you almost expect to speak to you as you walk past. i am sure it has waved to me more than once as i have walked past. mind you it dosnt deter pidgions got a wonderful picture of a pidgion sitting on his head

As the plotholders of number 15 - thank you!! We are pleased you like "Venus" our scarecrow - she is great company (I think) although she does give me a shock sometimes when I am working!! It's a bit of fun and I would love to see the photo of the pigeon on her head. I did notice her head was at a bit of a jaunty angle - now I know why!! 😂

HAD A COUPLE OF VISITORS TO THE SITE YESTERDAY THEY WERE MOST IMPRESSED BY THE SCARECROW. THEY SUGGESTED THAT IT SHOULD BE ENTERED IN THE ANNUAL PHOTO GALLERY THAT THE GUARDIAN NEWSPAPER RUN EVERY YEAR. WHY NOT GIVE IT A GO JANE
