Once again Helen Hewett was accompanied by Sylvia Harris and Murray Crump to represent the tenants of Oathall Avenue and America Lane.
At America Lane one tenant was in the process of giving up his plots as he could no longer spend time on them and they would be relet. A quantity of good quality paving bricks which had been brought in to provide hard standing for a greenhouse was now donated to the Community Garden where it will be used to build a path to the rear separating the garden from the edge of the stream.
Four other tenants would be contacted to remind them to cut back weeds and in one case to remove a young beech tree before it became too big. There was still a problem with Himalyan Balsam infestation and ALP would offer guidance and support to the tenant who had recently taken over that plot.
Several plots in their first year of new tenancy were looking well tended and very productive.
