So the sprouts had to go today. I needed the space to replant the rhubarb.
I took two nice slices of rhubarb root with a few healthy looking shoots on each and replanted with a few handfuls of poultry manure pellets. The soil is pretty rich already as it had plenty of manure last spring.
The last few sprouts just about made a meal tonight along with some cavelo nero. The leeks will be used for a batch of leek and potato soup tomorrow.
All in all a satisfying few hours spent on the plot this afternoon. At last I feel like I'm making a little progress. That is the rhubarb done, next job is to get the strawberries in. I am starting a fresh with new plants this year. Time to get those on order.
