Hi all,
I've just discovered that Burgess Hill Waitrose has a big black bin outside full of coffee grounds that you can take for composting (bring your own bag).
Not sure if Haywards Heath do the same but it could be worth investigating/encouraging them to do so.
I've also had success getting some from Costa before but you have to go in and ask in advance for them to save it.
Enjoy!

Any tips for using coffee grounds in composting?

A FAMOUS LOCAL CARNATION GROWER OF THE THIRTIES,FORTIES AND FIFTIES USED TO COLLECT DUSTBINS FULL OF COFFEE GROUNDS FROM THE FELBRIDGE HOTEL AT EAST GRINSTEAD AND USE THEM IN HIS MIXINGS. I ALSO KNOW THAT A WELL KNOWN EXHIBITOR AT LOCAL SHOWS USES THEM AS A LIQUID FEED BY PUTTING THEM IN A PIECE OF HESSIAN AND PUTTING THEM IN HIS WATER BUTT. I MYSELF HAVE ALWAYS USED THEM AS A TOP DRESSING ROUND MY TOMATO PLANTS IN THE GREENHOUSE. THEY ALSO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A GOOD DETERENT AGAINST SLUGS HOW TRUE I DONT KNOW.
