Hi there, I would just like to add my disappointmen , that I have applied for the plot next to me (Plot 16) to insure that it stays clean and rid of weeds and that I could grow more vegatables. I do understand that there is a waiting list and other people need the opportunity to start an allotment of their own plot. Its been 3 months now and the plot is looking like S..T and all the weeks an grass are at full flowering and seeding which has cause a massive hay fever on my side which I never had before and now my plot will be harder to control next year cause of this (weeds).
Why couldn't I just have the plot and none of this would of happened as there is no one using that plot exiting nor new.
Just want to say I'm disappointed especially as we have strict control of how our plots look.
HI CHRIS WHEN I PUT MY PIECE ON THE FORUM I STARTED WITH A STATEMENT FROM THE LATE COUNCILLOR PADDY HENRY. I WILL ADD ANOTHER OF HIS REMARKS TO YOUR PIECE . "LETTING PLOTS GET INTO THE STATE THAT SOME ARE ON THE AMERICA LANE SITE IS EITHER DELIBERATE POLICY OR RANK BAD ALLOMENT MANAGEMENT. THIS WAS SAID SOME YEARS AGO.
Hi Chris - I agree it’s a shame if someone who is keen to work an allotment can’t get one especially if the new tenant has not shown up and even made a start to clear the weeds. Same with the plot at the front, such a shame at the entrance to our site!!
We have all suffered this year (and last) from overgrown. Neighbouring plots
Have u thought about Re contacting the council to see if the new plotholder actually wants to work that plot cos maybe they have changed their minds If they want it, Town council should be chasing them perhaps! j
The plot in question has been let Chris But the point is: Why was it allowed to get into the state it is now, in the first place. For years it was one of the best plots on the site when John and Sue had it and yet in just two years it has become the mess it is now. WHY?
