now that the forum is well and truly up and running with people viewing from well outside this area i think a big thank you is due to the person who got it up and running and persevered with setting it up when there was some reluctance in some quarters for it to exist. take a bow murray.

Yep i second that. Thanks Murray. With the growing season just round the corner I would urge as many people as possible to make good use of the forum. I expect we will all have loads of spares to share around. We don't always bump into each other that often so the forum is a great place to make people aware of stuff you have to give away or even to ask for stuff if you have had a failure of something. I always end up with too much of most things and being as tight as I am I hate anything to go to waste. Much better it goes to a good home elsewhere. Spring is round the corner folks, onwards and upwards.

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen, but it is all down to yourselves, and all the others who have posted, and everyone who has joined but not yet posted, and everyone who visits the forum.
The number of page views for January was 3816 - our best yet since the inaugural month of September, when many will have looked briefly out of curiosity. Since then the foundations that were laid have been steadily added to by such towering superstructures as Stuart's blog and wilbarra and micky's reminiscences of gardeners and footballers. We are now up to 20 members and growing rapidly. All of this not surprisingly coincides with the return of a little bit of sunshine and those first tentative bouts of digging and clearing away the detritus of winter. Coming back from the plot after a few hours last week I felt as I used to do after the first cricket nets of the winter: a deep-seated ache behind the shoulders and in the back and a silly grin of remembered pleasures.
I will be posting a few tips on some additional features I have added as Admin, that I hope will help you to get more out out of the forum.
