My winter veg had to largely fend for itself over the summer and autumn as I didn't get to spent a lot of time pampering the plot. I had already tried the Swede and was pleased with those. (variety Gowrie). Same with the Kale. Cavelo Nero and Dwarf Curly alway reliable and this year I tried Redbor that proved good too. The three make a nice mix of leaves in texture and colour when cooked together. Today, a bit late I know, I harvested the first Parsnips (Countess) and Sprouts (variety unknown I lost the seeds packet). Given their total neglect they seem to have done ok. I'll put it down to my expert soil cultivation before they were planted . Having these with a roast tonight. I also picked a slug ravaged Savoy (Best of All). That is too feeble to warrant a photo but we might get a few edible leaves in the centre.

Well done Stuart... the parsnips look great - and the brussels! We grew two sticks of brussels and enjoyed them over the christmas period - even those who normall dont like brussel sprouts said how sweet and tasty they were... so am quite chuffed!!
