The Town Council has received a complaint from a resident living in one of the properties adjacent to the America Lane allotments about dogs being allowed on to the allotment site and that they are barking for long periods of time, which is causing a nuisance to residents sitting in their gardens enjoying the fine weather. Please can anyone taking their dog to the allotment site please try and stop them barking continuously, and if the dog is prone to a lot of barking, perhaps refrain from taking them to the allotments.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Kind regards
Helen

Kind regards Helen Hi Helen. Whilst I completely agree that plotholders should be considerate to neighbouring residents, I think other readers of this forum should know the content of the discussion I had with you about this earlier today.
To my knowledge there are no more than two current plotholders who even occasionally bring their dogs to the site, and when they do they always ensure they are well-behaved and not allowed to roam. I'm sure that the resident who contacted you has been inconvenienced but I think that this is not necessarily the fault of the allotment holders. I did recall seeing some posts on the Haywards Heath Gossip Facebook site about a dog that has been running loose and barking behind the gates.
While that was some time ago comments posted there suggested this had happened before, and that the dog was getting into the allotments from a back garden.
I'd like to encourage anyone reading this who has any knowledge of recent problems to contact the Council so that you can investigate and respond to the resident.
