During last week someone entered the site and forced open, prising the lock plates off, 4 sheds towardsthe far end of the site. The owners are all being contacted to see if anything has been missing but its clear that someone has been looking for items to sell - power tools, probably. The police have been notified of at least one case and advice from the Council is always to notify them because it puts it on their radar of places to keep an eye on. The Council will be contacted urgently now the full extent of this is known and your representatives will be pressing them to review site security and look into anything else that can be done to avoid any incursions fom the land or over the stream. In the meaantime, given the mode of entry, putting stronger padlocks on is insufficeient unless the lockplates can be guaranteed not to be prised away by someone determined. Don't keep anything valuable on site overnight.

I met the police yesterday at the site and took them all round, pointing out the places we know have been ransacked and/or forced open. They will now include in regular patrols and I am now a contact on an alert list for criminal activity 😒 Key points they raised: please anyone who had any forcible entry, however minor, to ring 101 and report the incident. Second, try not to leave anything valuable in sheds overnight. We know now it doesn't matter what padlock you put on it if the plate can be forced off!
