After 2 years a return to the awards made by Haywards Heath Town Council as part of their Haywards Heath In Bloom programme. During the summer a team drawn from gardeners at all 4 of the Town's allotments (America Lane, Oathall Avenue, Summerhill Lane and Vale Road) viewed the allotment plots and judged according to a consistent formula. The overall standard was very high and a credit to all the hard work that people have put in during this very challenging summer of heatwaves and downpours, and ever present humidity.
Today, 20th October, a presentation was made at HH Town Hall in Boltro Road to all the selections, along with Best domestic gardens, Best Communal gardens, and Best business street displays. Prizes and commendations were presented by the Mayor, Councillor Howard Mundin at an event presided over by the Chair of Haywards Heath in Bloom, Councillor Sandy Ellis.
Photos of the winners and where possible their plots will be posted on the relevant allotment site pages. Here is the list of winners - well done to all.
