ANDREW AND I HAD A GOOD DAY ON THE PLOT
ONE OF THOSE DAYS WHEN YOU BEGIN TO SEE REAL PROGRESS AND THINGS
START TO FALL INTO SHAPE.
WE FIRST PUT UP THE ARCH WAY WHERE THE ENTRANCE TO THE GARDEN IS GOING
TO BE AND ALTHOUGH IT HAS GOT TO BE PUT IN MORE SECURELY IT DOES START
TO GIVE AND IMPRESSION OF WHAT THE GARDEN IS ABOUT.
THE NEXT JOB WAS TO CLEAR AWAY THE LAST BIT OF WEED INFESTED GROUND.
I DID THAT WHILE ANDREW DUG OUT THE PEAR TREE AND REPLANTED IT.
DIGGING OUT A PEAR TREE AND THEN REPLANTING IN A FOUR FOOT WIDE AND FOUR
DEEP HOLE IS WAY PAST ME NOW.
BUT IT DIDNT SEEM TO BOTHER ANDREW.
WE BOTH THEN WENT ONTO TRYING TO GET SOME SORT OF LEVEL TO THE PLOT AND
BY THE END OF THE DAY IT DID LOOK, TO SOME DEGREE,A LOT MORE LEVEL THAN
WHEN WE STARTED.
MY LAST JOB OF THE DAY WAS TO HELP ANDREW CUT DOWN AN OLD PLUM TREE.
AT FOUR-O-CLOCK I HAD, HAD ENOUGH AND WENT HOME LEAVING ANDREW TO DO A BIT
MORE.
WE ARE GOING TO MARK OUT THE MIDDLE BED AND THAT IS WHERE WE THOUGHT
YOUR TULIPS COULD GO, STUART.
ANOTHER WANT.
TWO RAMBLER OR CLIMBER ROSES TO GO OVER THE ARCHWAY.
HAVE BEEN GIVEN A GOOSEBERRY BUSH BY A VERY YOUNG LADY
SHE BROUGHT IT HERSELF OUT OF HER POCKET MONEY AS A THANK YOU FOR HELP HER
AND MUM GOT WHEN A CERTAIN KITTEN HAD TO BE GOT DOWN FROM THE HEDGE.
IT ALL HAPPENS DOWN AMERICA LANE ALLOTMENT SITE.
